Spice Up That Summer

This swimming pool is uniquely designed and provides a wide array of features that are very uncommon to a standard fiberglass swimming pool. Of course, that what we love about our line of San Juan Pools – they are unique and perfect for any occasion!

What Truly Makes Fiberglass So Special

What truly makes this pool and any other fiberglass pool so special? Well since you asked, we’ll show you! Fiberglass shells, as we have described in our previous articles are merely membranes that separate the Earth from the Water contained in them. The same can be said for our gunite & vinyl pool counterparts. The intention is to build a unique shape that is appealing and interesting to the beholder yet strong and resistant to the tides of ground movement.

San Juan pools uses a unique proprietary fiberglass & resin composition to create a pool shell that is impervious to ground movement. What this means for you is that you get a long lasting swimming pool that ships with a manufacturer limited warranty. This sounds like a small attribute but we guarantee you – it’s worth its weight in gold! How can you get some perspective on this fact? Let’s lay it out for you!

Here is another perspective of this wonderful swimming pool. It sports a raised ledge with integrated water fall and attached slide. This is a perfect way to showcase the unique design and create a perfect deep end jumping surface!

Gunite versus Fiberglass Pools

Gunite swimming pools, by definition are pool shells creating out of cement material (gunite or shotcrete), rebar & plaster. All three of these ingredients combine together to create your unique pool shell. Gunite is unique because you can mold it to fit any shape. The downside (and there is always a downside) is there is no warranty from day one. These types of swimming pools are constructed using sub-contractors that specialize in a specific element of installation. There are many sub-contractors for gunite swimming pools including:

  • Excavators
  • Plumbers
  •  Steel (rebar)
  • Gunite or Shotcreted
  • Plaster

All of these sub-contractors combine their efforts to create a gunite pool that you know and love today. The only issue with this type of construction design is this: who is responsible when a warranty claim arises? Who is going to fix your shell when it moves or cracks? The answer: nobody.

Wow! That’s Scary!

The moment these crews collect their money – they are gone. You will never see them again. That’s one achilles heal that a gunite builder can never overcome and it’s where we provide greater value.

San Juan swimming pools are designed and fabricated in a controlled facility and ship with the San Juan name and warranty attached. It’s the only swimming pool that offers any sort of warranty and it’s one that we stand behind! It’s another reason why we are so proud to represent the products that we do!

The overall length of 39' 8" is a long swimming lane! It creates an excellent swimming lane for your lap swimmer and gives your guests lots of room to collect, play and swim for recreation. Certainly a great watering hole for your backyard!

Back To The Oasis

Now that we have laid the ground work for the superiority of our product line, let’s touch base on the beautiful design of the Oasis. This swimming pool offers a shallow-end set of entry steps that are so inviting you can’t help but jump in!

As you pass along it’s curvy shape, you’ll notice the bottom giving way to a large deep end of 7′ 11″. It’s quite a drop off and offers a very fun and creating swimming experience for your family and guests.

To fully take advantage of it’s deep end shape, we recommend adding on a high-quality diving board or slide from Inter-Fab or SR Smith. These are two favorite game vendors and they offer superior products for superior prices! Our type of guys!

It’s Got Something for Everyone

Aside from it’s wonderful and playful deep end, this swimming pool offers a curvy shape that it’s interesting to the eye. Orient it in any direction in your backyard and you’ll see how perfectly it compliments the spirit of fun! We refer to this design of pool shape as a Free Form design and it’s quickly becoming a front runner in our industry!

Many pool builders are offering free form designs – but of course, none offer a warranty. Sorry, we are bragging again.

Lastly, we always recommend tossing in some added water features & LED lighting to create a brilliant display in the evenings. LED lighting is now a prevalent lighting technique in our industry and they can all be controlled from an iPhone or Android device. This type of lighting is much more affordable than what you probably imagined and we recommend it to all of our customers!
