What would you say if you walked into your backyard to find a spacious fiberglass swimming pool? What if that water was crisp, cool, clean and absolutely stunning? Would it make you want to jump in and swim, eat your meals by it and spend more time outdoors?
If you’re feeling the longing sensation of owning a swimming pool – you’ve come to the right place. Many of our clients are first time pool owners.
Just like your first time with children – there is a lot of excitement along with a lot of questions. What type of chemicals should I use? How often do I need to brush it? How does my pool equipment work? These are all legitimate questions but our answer is – it’s a whole lot easier than you think.
Owning a fiberglass swimming pool requires lower maintenance, less electricity and less chemical usage than a typical concrete swimming pool. In fact, you’ll enjoy owning your fiberglass pool much more than all of your concrete swimming pool neighbors!

Completion of the Waikiki II in Corinth, TX
Now that you’ve seen our preliminary article (Waikiki II – Phase 1) showing the excavation, delivery, setting & concrete pouring – it’s time to show you the beautiful results! As you can see from our images, this backyard experienced a total makeover. It’s hard to image, but this grassland completely transformed into an outdoor living space in just a few short weeks.
Showcased above, our crews have put the finishing touches on our installation including:
- Cleaning up the job site
- Vacuuming out the Waikiki II
- Completing the startup for pool chemistry
- Educating our client how to use and operate their equipment
We have a very talented team that comes in after the construction is completed to really bring it all together. In our industry, we refer to this as the “Startup Procedure.” It’s also the same time frame that we provide our clients with some one-on-one “Pool School”.
This is the exciting part of what we do and it’s also where we teach our clients how to care and love for the beautiful swimming pool that we just installed for them!
The Final Touches: Fill Up & Chemical Startup
Alas, after a few short weeks of dirty, noisy construction equipment – the Waikiki II project has come to a close. Our client is as excited as a jitterbug and they’ve even purchased their first pool raft (seen on right side of top photo).
In majority of cases, the moment our crews leave and the pool fills up – the kids and family are itching to hop outside and enjoy their new, beautiful oasis. Therefore, we are quick to send out Lori (our startup technician). She quickly balances the pool chemistry by applying some state-of-the-art cleanup chemicals known as Revive! After application, she allows the dust and debris to collect and vacuums this debris out to waste.
Finally, she balances the pool chemistry so that the Chlorine, pH, Alkalinity and Calcium levels are in line. It’s at this point that we release our clients to go crazy and enjoy their new swimming pool! From here it’s all summer bliss and our clients then know the joy of owning their first swimming pool. We love this part of the job and it’s why we do what we do everyday!
The Benefits of Fiberglass Swimming Pools
As we hinted at above, there are numerous benefits to owning a fiberglass swimming pool. For starters, fiberglass swimming pools cost a whole lot less than the traditional gunite. Additionally, our crews can install a fiberglass swimming pool in a matter of weeks (not months).
If you live in North Texas, then you already know: Spring 2019 has been a wet one and the soil in North Texas is wet and recovering from regular rains. Many gunite pool builders are struggling to complete projects that they first started in April. All the while their projects keep getting pushed back further and further. Many clients (of the concrete guys) are opting to wait until 2020 to build their swimming pool. Not with Fiberglass Pool Guyz! We have a lot of fiberglass pool installations on the board and would love to take on more!
Many of our clients scratch their heads when they wonder about the difference and how we could possibly be faster. Our easiest explanation is it’s all in how our pools are constructed. Rather than being built on site (like a concrete pool) – our swimming pools are manufactured and shipped complete from the factory. Our entire operation therefore consist of scheduling installation dates, arranging for installers to be present, having the right equipment in place and getting the job done.
We could go on and on, but the long story short is that: once we’ve dug the hole – we can have your swimming pool completed in a matter of weeks (not months)!
