The Canyon Lake

Are you a new home owner in Dallas Fort Worth? Does the home that you purchased have a smaller yard and you’re questioning if you can put a swimming pool in? Have you considered the cost savings you can experienced by purchasing a fiberglass swimming pool?

Many of our clients are in this position. They are recent purchasers of new homes that were recently developed in Dallas Fort Worth. Many of these small homes have small lot lines with close to 600-800 SQFT in the back yard. In these cases, we have to look at installer smaller bodies of water so our clients have still experience the joy of swimming pool ownership!

With some pool builders this can be a difficult feat. It’s tough enough to handle construction equipment in small spaces, but it’s made tougher by having to construct petite swimming pools. With Fiberglass Pool Guyz, on the other hand, this is an easy task and we have the inventory of small fiberglass pools to get the job done! In fact, purchasing a smaller body of water allows us to work faster and we can have your pool installed in as little as 4 weeks from start to finish!

Small, Rectangular Fiberglass Pool

One perfect example of a petite fiberglass swimming pool is the Canyon Lake. This petite design features some basic swimming pool attributes such as a curved entry step and corner entry step (on the opposite end). Where this pool gets a little interesting is how it is installed compared to our other models. Unlike the rest of our swimming pool inventory, the Canyon Lake is installed partially above-ground!

Elevated Above Ground with Flat Bottom

How is this accomplished? Well, simply put – this pool is constructed a tad differently at the factory. San Juan Pools (our manufacturer) has created a double-wall portion that helps the Canyon Lake sit 24″ above the ground. The rest of the swimming pool that sits below ground utilizes their single wall design (just like our other swimming pools).

What does this benefit you as the home owner? Well, some of our clients want to create unique designs that impress or wow their family and friends. Other clients have difficulty getting into the pool and need a raised swimming pool for added safety and ease of entry and exit. In all cases, the Canyon Lake is a very different design that allows us to create a unique layout different from other other models.

Create a Raised Rock Edge

If you’re into unique designs and your imagination is already whirling – the Canyon Lake may be a great option for you! There are numerous ways for you to “dress up” the outside of the Canyon Lake. For instance, it’s possible to pour concrete to create the appearance of boulders on all sides of this swimming pool (see top image). This creates a unique layout and gives you access to entering and exiting this swimming pool on all sides.

Additionally, creating a raised ledge on all sides gives you and your guests plenty of seating room! Just imagine a cool evening in the Fall with a fire place adjacent to the Canyon Lake. It’s too chilly to get in the pool, but you can still relax on the raised ledge seating and stay warm by the fire. Now that sounds like a nice, romantic evening to us!

The Pool Specs

In conclusion, the Canyon Lake is a unique layout that gives our clients some creative design options compared to our other swimming pool models. This pool also has a flat bottom design with no deep end. There are also two sets of entry steps (one large and one tucked into the corner). Lastly, this is a petite design that only requires 144 SQFT of surface area!

  • Width: 10′
  • Length: 18′
  • Depth: 3′ 6″
  • Surface Area: 144 SQFT
  • Volume: 3,500 Gallons
