Another Fiberglass Pool Delivery
In today’s new home construction market, small backyards seem to be becoming more of the norm than the exception. Most home owners have little yard space to play with and they feel that owning a swimming pool isn’t in the realm of possibilities. Not with our Small Backyard category of products!
This week we are installing The Lelani fiberglass pool at a home in Lewisville, TX. This fiberglass swimming pool is a petite 6,000 gallon swimming pool with a playful free form shape. From tanning on it’s shallow end tanning ledge to diving for rings in its 5′ 11″ deep end – adventure awaits!
For external dimensions, the Lelani measures just 23′ 9 in length & 12′ 3″ in width. In fact, the Lelani is a part of this Small Backyard category and only requires 217 SQFT of space (not including decking).
By selecting this pool shape for your home, you’re opening up the opportunities to relax outside. The Lelani is a great option for home owners with active swimmers that enjoy playing games, swimming laps, activating water features or floating on rafts. Phase #1: Excavation for The Lelani
Here you can see our crews preparing our job site for the installation of the Lelani. We first start out by creating a “spray paint” diagram of our swimming pool in the grass. We then establish “depth markers” every 4′. As shown on our installation diagram below, we essentially map out our swimming pool and notate the depth, length & width. We do all of this prepare our work space before we remove the first bucket-full of dirt.
Once we’ve laid out our “spray paint” diagram, we are ready to begin the excavation phase of our project. Here we open up the earth and create the “frame work” to set our fiberglass swimming pool. This stage can always become a little interesting depending on what we find beneath the soil. It’s not uncommon to uncover root systems, boulders or bedrock.
In any case, we continue excavating the earth to take on the exact shape and size of our swimming pool – plus room for back-fill material. Back-fill material is essentially a combination of silica sand, lime stone or jagged rocks. It can vary based upon our application and the type of soil that we are working with. In all cases, back-fill material acts as a cushion, or bed, for our fiberglass pool so that we can set and level during our installation.
